Project Advantages Chili cultivation area in Yanqi Basin is about 250000 mu per year, with a production of 100000 tons per year. Hejing County has advantageous water, soil, light and heat resources, annually with a frost-free period of 192days, sunshine duration of 3049 hours and solar radiation of 156.8kcal/cm2. Therefore, chilies produced here contain red pigment of ≥5mg/hg with a color value of ≥33.9. The content of red pigment approaches or exceeds that of industrial tomatoes. Capsaicin is made from pure natural chilies with special pharmacological activities. Currently, capsaicin development and application period is comparatively long overseas, and new applications of capsaicin have been continually developed to biological pesticide. For the above reasons, capsaicin has broad marketing space and developing prospect.
